BJP MLAs from other states to be deployed in every district of UP to support Yogi Adityanath’s election campaign

To ensure Yogi Adityanath’s return to power, the BJP has chalked out a strategy to involve MLAs from the neighboring states of Uttar Pradesh who will give crucial support to all the contestants in the upcoming assembly elections.

According to sources, one MLA will be posted from each neighboring state of UP, in which every BJP candidate will contest. To monitor the constituencies in every district, the BJP will have two MLAs, who are already in charge of assembly seats, to take stock of the districts.

In western UP, MLAs from Haryana will be posted while MLAs from Bihar will be given assignments in constituencies bordering their state. District Sonbhadra will have MLAs from Madhya Pradesh who will campaign and MLAs from Delhi will be stationed in areas around Saharanpur.

These MLAs will also give important feedback to the central leadership, which is closely monitoring the process with ministers and leaders in charge of various sectors, to activate the cadre.

“There are postings at three levels. One remains in charge of the power centers. The second is sending the ‘Vistarak’ that the party started four months ago. Third and latest MLAs from other states will be given charge of one constituency and two MLAs in charge of a district who will report to state and central committees,” a senior party leader told PTI.

‘Vistaraks’ are BJP workers who leave their homes to work for the party and expand their base for a stipulated period, it could be from a year to three months.

Despite being the strongest of its competitors in virtual and digital campaigning, the BJP relies heavily on human resources reaching out to voters through door-to-door campaigns.

Another senior leader said, “The key element in the chain of reaching out to the voters is the ‘Panna Pramukh’. He is the one who will contact the people in every household. There are around 60 voters in the list of a ‘Panna Pramukh’ and to ensure It is their duty to make voters go out and vote, send constant reminders and tell them about the achievements of the party and the government,” said another senior party leader.

Now that the Election Commission has allowed five members for door-to-door campaigning, the BJP said it is confident that it can defeat other political parties because of its organizational strength.

The work of strengthening the Shakti Kendras is almost complete. We have five to six booths in each of our Shakti Kendras. At least six of these villages come under its purview. The in-charge Shakti Kendra will see that the cadre reaches out to the voters,” explained another senior party functionary.

According to sources, the BJP is waiting for the Election Commission’s decision on rallies or small gatherings after January 15 to gear up its campaign.

“Much of our campaign will be structured around the Election Commission’s January 15 decision. No one can deny the fact that physical rallies have merit in elections,” said a senior party leader.

The BJP is also looking at reaching out to the government beneficiaries virtually. Village wise list of beneficiaries has been prepared.

Voting for 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. Voting will be held on March 10.

digital campaign

Even as the opposition targets the Election Commission for banning rallies and road shows and opting for digital campaigns, the BJP is gearing up to include MPs and those in charge of campaigning for the constituency and itself. Only the Prime Minister, the party is not limiting to covering the President’s rallies. JP Nadda, Union Ministers like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Piyush Goyal.

According to sources, the party is training its technical force to cover state ministers, MPs and other important functionaries of the party, even if the meeting is held at the ‘mandal’ level.

He said that such huge numbers being generated would be a record of sorts as the aim is to cover every election campaign digitally.

From 3D studio mix to audio conference, BJP is training its technical staff to give real time feel of election rally.

“We have not confined ourselves to rallies. We will send various videos like government achievements and videos targeted to the segment, be it beneficiary or others. We have the technology to broadcast video to millions of people at once.”

Another source privy to the process said the party has prepared teams to watch the rallies of senior leaders and shoot videos of those sitting.

“When we get permission to allow people who follow COVID-appropriate behaviour, we will have a team there that will shoot how they are happy and react. It will then be merged into the feed of the leader and the audience will be provided with an experience similar to a live rally,” said sources.

Also such feeds can be given to broadcast news channels directly.

Sources said that each virtual address will be promoted on all social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
