BJP is making Netaji’s statue after pressure: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

New Delhi: While the West Bengal government and the Center are already confused over the tableau rejected by the Centre, the state CM has accused the central government of having promised to work on Netaji’s whereabouts but not Did. do anything after coming to power

“Till date we do not know about the whereabouts of Netaji. They (Centre) had said that they will work on it when they come to power but nothing happened. In fact, we (state) have released and declassified all files on Netaji Bose,” Banerjee said.

She was speaking at an event to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Kolkata. He further said, ‘Why so much allergy to Bengal? You (Centre) rejected the tableau of Bengal (for Republic Day)… you are making (Netaji’s) statue (in Delhi) because we put pressure on you.”

In his address to the people, he referred to files related to Bose that were released by the West Bengal government in 2015. Even after more than 70 years after the death and disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the circumstances have never been cleared.

Banerjee’s remarks came on the anniversary of the freedom fighter, which was earlier declared as Prakram Divas by the central government.

The Prime Minister had also announced that the Republic Day celebrations would start from January 23 instead of 24 from this year to accommodate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

PM will also unveil a hologram statue of Netaji at India Gate this evening. The virtual statue will remain in place until the original granite sculpture is completed.
