In a bizarre incident in Gurugram, four men booked a cab through an app and allegedly stole it when the driver came to pick them up, police said. The incident took place on Friday night at Chaukar Ki Dhani near IMT in Manesar, they said.

Police said that Harish Kumar, a cab driver from Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh, received the booking on the cab aggregator app around 11 pm on Friday night.

When he reached the pickup point, he found four people standing there. As soon as he got out of the cab to confirm that he had booked the cab, the men snatched the car keys from him, pushed him and fled in his vehicle. The mobile phone of the complainant was also inside the cab.

An FIR was registered in connection with the incident at Sector 10A police station on Saturday. An investigation is underway, the police said.
