Nitish also inspected various ongoing works and ongoing projects in the premises of BSTPS, which was set up by his personal efforts.
Before taking over as the Chief Minister of Bihar in November 2005, Nitish represented the Barh constituency in the Lok Sabha. he was chosen as Lok Sabha Member from floods for five consecutive times since 1989.
Addressing a function in the floods after dedicating Unit No-1 (660 MW) of BSTPS to the nation, the Chief Minister of Bihar said that one of the three proposed units of 660 MW started generating power from November 12 Is. But today it was formally inaugurated. , The second unit will be inaugurated next year, while the third unit will start power generation after a year of next year,” Nitish said.
“Today, I found that the inaugurated Unit No.-1 is generating a total of 678 MW of power in place of 660 MW. It is a matter of happiness,” the CM said.
Recalling the personal efforts made for setting up BSTPS in Barh parliamentary constituency, Nitish said that he was working as railway minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 1998. That time, Rangarajan Kumaramangalam Was the Union Energy Minister. “Kumaramangalam once came to me for five railway related works in his parliamentary constituency. I approved all five of his works. When we met again a few days later, Kumaramangalam Told me that he wants to set up a greenfield thermal plant in my constituency. He asked me to identify the location. Then, I asked him to send a team from the Ministry of Power, 20 km east of Patna, and also suggested that the team identify a suitable location between 20 km and 100 km east of Patna. After visiting various places, the team finally decided to set up the proposed power plant in Barh,” recalled Nitish.
Referring to the Union Power Minister’s speech, the CM further said, “RK Singh has already spoken here that NTPC will generate such a huge amount of power in Bihar that the state government will not have to buy it from any private company. , Since RK Singh belongs to Bihar, he will fulfill whatever the needs of Bihar are in the power sector. I thank RK Singh. I also thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi who thinks about everything.”
JD(U) President and Munger MP Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh urged the Center to provide electricity at one rate to all the states. He advocated “One Nation-One Rate” in the power sector.
