Bihar Police Constitutes Team To Probe ‘Thrashing’ Of Galwan Martyr’s Father, Rajnath Singh Expresses Displeasure

New Delhi: Bihar Police on Wednesday constituted a high-level team to probe the alleged ‘thrashing’ of Galwan martyr’s father by local policemen in Vaishali. The jawan, identified as Jai Kishore Singh, was one of the 20 soldiers who laid down their lives in the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army. According to ANI, Bihar’s Director General of Police has assured strict action. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the alleged thrashing of Galwan martyr’s father in Vaishali, sources said against the police officers if found guilty after investigation.

The Defense Minister condemned the alleged incident and expressed displeasure. Earlier, the brother of the Galwan Valley martyr had alleged that the Bihar Police had ordered them to demolish a memorial built in honor of the martyred soldier, claiming that it was built on private and government land, Due to which encroachment took place.

He claimed that the police threatened to wash away the statue of the slain braveheart if the family did not comply. The relatives had earlier alleged that the martyr’s father was beaten up and arrested by the police for building a memorial for his son on encroached land at Jandah in Bihar’s Vaishali.

“I don’t know why they arrested my father or why an FIR was lodged against him. All the information coming in public domain on the matter is fabricated. This memorial was built after due process. DSP orders slain jawans Jai Kishore’s brother Nand Kishore said on Tuesday, “We are threatening to remove the monument, if we don’t comply, we will drown it.”

Manju Devi, the mother of the martyred soldier, said that the police beat up her husband and did not give any information about the legal action taken against him. He said the police “threatened” the family of consequences if they did not remove the monument.

“The police came and took my husband away. They beat him up and did not even inform us of his arrest or the legal action being taken against him. They repeatedly threatened us of consequences if we did not remove the monument. Will be.” ‘s mother said.

The police had earlier claimed that no permission was sought to build the memorial on the land, which they claimed belonged to someone else. “On January 23, a case was registered under the SC/ST Act regarding the land of Hari Nath Ram and an idol installed on government land in Jandaha.

Later, a boundary wall was erected around the monument. They (martyr jawan’s family) did not take official permission. If they wanted, they could have made it their land or asked for land from the government. Then there is no issue. SDPO Mahua said on Tuesday that the rights of landlords have been violated due to encroachment.

However, the jawan’s brother, Nand Kishore, who is also in the armed forces, accused the police of thrashing and manhandling their father. “DSP ma’am met us and asked us to remove the statue within 15 days. I said I will show her the paperwork (to build the memorial). Later, the station in-charge came to our house and thrashed my father.” before arresting him. He also abused my father. I am also among the personnel of the armed forces,” said Nand Kishore. Locals protested the police action and also raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
