Patna: Amidst slight increase in prices COVID-19 In order to ensure the safety of the passengers, the Railways has started a mask checking campaign at the congested stations of Danapur Division.
“Danapur Division, which has major stations like Patna Junction, Rajendra Nagar TerminalPatliputra Junction and Danapur station under its jurisdiction have been asked to ensure that all passengers wear masks. RPF Commandant SN Ojha gave this information to this reporter on Wednesday.
He said, “Patna Junction alone sees huge rush every day as a large number of passenger trains either leave or pass through the station. Even those who are not traveling to other cities or states go to the station to drop off or receive their friends or relatives. Therefore, the Railways has implemented a mask-checking campaign. ,
Ojha further said, “Since long distance mail and express trains as well as local trains have started running again, RPF personnel are checking masks of people at Ara, Buxar as well. Paid, Kiul and Jhajha stations.”
According to a railway official, RPF personnel in Patna are monitoring the behavior of passengers through closed circuit television cameras and are imposing a fine of up to Rs 500 for not wearing a mask. During the last fortnight, more than 100 such passengers have been fined at different places in the division.
“A dedicated women squad of RPF has also been deployed at Patna Junction towards Mahavir Mandir and Karbighiya to ensure that women passengers wear masks and follow COVID-appropriate behaviour,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the Railways has directed the concerned officials to create awareness among the public and ensure that everyone strictly adheres to the COVID safety norms.
