Bihar logs 90 fresh coronavirus cases in 24 hours | Patna News – Times of India

The state on Tuesday registered an increase in number of new Covid-19 cases with 90 people testing positive for the virus against 1,38,278 samples tested. On Monday, 34 new cases were logged in the state as only 88,483 samples were tested. No fresh Covid death was reported on Tuesday.
The 90 fresh Covid cases have taken the state’s tally to 8,29,803. However, 8,17,040 people have so far recovered from the virus and 12,255 succumbed to it. Of 90 new cases, Patna accounted for 24, followed by Katihar (8), Saharsa (7), Bhojpur (5) and Samastipur (5). Twelve districts did not report any new case and other districts logged less than five cases.
Meanwhile, in order to expedite the vaccination process, the health department, in coordination with the local representatives, organized a general meeting at the panchayat level on Tuesday. Beneficiaries were made aware of the benefit of vaccination and those who had missed their shots were inoculated at the local anganwadi centres. The health department has set a target to inoculate the due doses to all the beneficiaries before rolling out of vaccination of children in 12-15 age group.
So far, over 11.85 crore doses have been administered in the state, including over 6.60 crore first dose, 5.17 crore second dose and 7.29 lakh precaution dose.
