Bihar IAS Officer Accuses ‘DG Madam’ of Harassment, BJP Demands Action Against Erring Senior Officers

Patna: Days after a video of a senior Bihar bureaucrat abusing his junior colleagues went viral, another senior IAS officer posted in the state has now accused his boss of harassing and abusing him. According to reports, Vikas Vaibhav, posted as Inspector General (IG) of Home Guards and Fire Services, has accused his Senior Director General Shobha Ohtkar of misbehaving with him.

In a dramatic development, the senior IPS officer posted a tweet on Wednesday night but deleted it hours later. However, his screengrab went viral on social media.

In his now-deleted tweet, Tiwari wrote, “Ever since I was transferred to this department in October last year, I have tried my level best to perform my duty properly, yet I wish to join ‘DG Madam’ Hearing unnecessary abuses. Daily basis. I am very shocked.”


Tiwari, a 2003 batch IPS officer, holds the distinction of having worked with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and is involved in social work with his hashtag #LetsInspireBihar. Thousands of people are said to have connected with his initiative launched to promote “education, egalitarianism and entrepreneurship”.

While Vaibhav declined to comment, officials close to him said he was working in adversity and was taken aback by the sudden turn of events.

Meanwhile, the main opposition BJP has expressed serious concern over the bureaucratic state of the state and asked the chief minister to take action against errant officials to put a stop to the recurring untoward incidents in the state.

State BJP spokesperson said, “First, IAS officer KK Pathak gave evidence of being under mental stress and frustration, and now IPS officer Shobha Ohtkar is also seen in a similar condition. It is high time that the officers who abused the chief minister are punished.” Strict action should be taken against them.” Nikhil Anand.



The incident took place after a senior IAS officer KK Pathak, currently working as Additional Chief Secretary in the Excise, Prohibition and Registration Department, using foul language against a Deputy Collector and scolding his subordinate twice, Bihar This comes days after he was caught on camera prompting the Administrative Services union. A complaint has been lodged against Pathak at the local police station.
