The deceased has been identified as Chhotu Yadav, a resident of Rahariya village. He was dating a woman from Baruwa village whose family members were against his relationship.

A man, aged 20, died on Wednesday in Bihar’s Araria district after he was allegedly electrocuted by family members of a woman with whom he was in a relationship, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Chhotu Yadav, a resident of Rahariya village. He was dating a woman from Baruwa village whose family members were against his relationship.

Even at the age of 20, the woman had called Chhotu to meet her in Baruwa on Wednesday.

While he was talking to the woman, the latter’s father, Dhirendra Yadav, his son and son-in-law grabbed Chhotu and forcibly locked him in a room.

“The trio brutally beat up Chotu in the room. They also gave him electric shocks which led to his death.”

The accused had kept the body inside the house.

When Chotu’s family, including father, went to Dhirendra Yadav’s house and inquired about the matter from the panchayat members, they initially refused. However, when the police went to the village and questioned Dhirendra, he confessed his crime.

“During investigation, it was revealed that the accused had given Chhotu electric shocks till his death. The accused have confessed to the crime. We have sent the body for postmortem and arrested the accused for murder.”
