Big News: Kashmiri Pandits To Get Subsidised Land Rates To Build Houses In Valley

With the improvement in security situation in Kashmir Valley the LG administration in Kashmir Valley announced to provide land on subsidized rates to Kashmiri Pandit employees serving in Valley, for the construction of new houses.  The scheme is aimed to settle migrant Kashmiri Pandits back in the Kashmir Valley.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, while asserting that the situation had improved in J&K and terrorism was taking its last breath, announced about the government plan to provide land at subsidised price to Kashmiri Pandit government employees in Kashmir to build their own houses.

The government announcement came to fore at a time when Kashmiri Pandit migrants in Jammu was demanding hike in monthly relief, like in Delhi where it was hiked 170% from 10,000 to 27000. The LG administration apart from considering the increase of monthly relief for Kashmiri Pandit migrants said that their main focus to settle the Pandits back in Kashmir Valley, the place they belong to actually and for this as the beginning step, the land will be provided to Kashmiri Pandit government employees serving in Kashmir Valley. This land will be given on subsidised rates from the Government which is likely to be the nominal.

Earlier LG administration in Jammu and Kashmir started the scheme of providing 5 marlas of government land to landless residents of UT and thousands of families have already taken the land under this scheme so far. Now the LG administration came with another proposal of providing land to Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
