Big decisions in Punjab cabinet: Sub-committee formed for reservation in jobs; Appointment of new AG tomorrow; 5 thousand home guards will be recruited; health workers will be hired

A cabinet sub-committee has been formed to fix the quota of Punjabis in government and private jobs in Punjab. All this committee has been formed under the leadership of Finance Minister Manpreet Badal. Punjab government will change the law of jobs. It will also see how many jobs are there in which department. There has been a churn in the cabinet on fixing 75% quota for Punjabis.

According to the government, a decision will be taken on this soon. At the same time, employees of other states already working will not be removed. The new procedure will be applicable from future.

Apart from this, there was also discussion on setting up a new Advocate General. The cabinet has given its powers to CM Charanjit Channi. A new AG may be appointed by tomorrow. The day after tomorrow i.e. on November 18, there is a hearing of the much-discussed drug case in the High Court.

Apart from this, the Punjab government will recruit 5 thousand home guard jawans. Health workers working during the Corona period will not be removed. They will be re-hired and made permanent according to seniority. This work has now been taken back from the Service Selection Board and given to the Health Department to formulate the policy. Navjot Sidhu had ended the hunger strike of these employees on Tuesday morning itself.

Captain also got support from door to door employment

The issue of reservation in jobs is important because the government is under question regarding jobs in Punjab. In the 2017 elections, Captain Amarinder Singh had also spoken of door-to-door employment. Due to which Captain got a lot of support in the election. It is a different matter that people took it as a promise of government jobs, but the captain got private jobs.

With this proposal, CM Channi is trying to end the anti-Congress atmosphere in Punjab.

Bringing concrete laws from Haryana

CM Channi has said that the Punjab government is bringing concrete laws from Haryana. Punjabi jobs are going to Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and part of Delhi. For the past few years, there have been continuous protests for jobs in Punjab. The youth are angry with the government. In such a situation, the government is trying to satisfy everyone through this bet. If sources are to be believed, a plan has been made to fix 75% quota in government and private sector.

The Captain got a lot of support in 2017 from the door-to-door employment scheme.

Opponents told election stunt

Opponents have started targeting this decision of Channi government. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Aman Arora said that CM Channi should investigate how non-Punjabi got admitted in the government department of Punjab. This is just an election stunt of Congress. The BJP also termed it as the only election gimmick of CM Channi.
