Now the handicapped of Haryana will be able to get free education in the State Rehabilitation, Training and Research Institute, Rohtak. Divyangjan of Haryana will now be able to get free education at the State Institute of Rehabilitation, Training and Research (Sirtar), Rohtak. The registration fee, monthly fee and hostel fee being collected from the students in the institute for a long time will no longer be charged. The government has completely condoned this.

This decision was taken in the 5th meeting of the Governing Body of ‘Sirtar’ held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Om Prakash Yadav. Yadav told that these fees were being charged from the Divyangjans currently studying in the institute. Because of this he felt trouble. The limit of contingency expenditure of the director and principal of Sirtar has been increased. Now the director will be able to spend up to 40 thousand and the principal up to 10 thousand rupees monthly.

An ‘Early Intervention Center’ will be opened in ‘Sirtar’ to check and test the disability of children from the age group of 5-6 years so that such children can be provided treatment and education from an early stage. In order to make maximum use of all the senses of children with disabilities, approval has also been given to set up a ‘Sensory Integration Unit’ (SIU) in the institute campus. In-principle approval has also been given to install digital signage display and solar panels in the institute.

The Minister of State directed the officers to implement all the decisions taken in the meeting at the earliest so that the Divyangjans can get their benefits soon. Special education is given in the institute including JBT, BEd, PGDRP and other courses. In this, there is a system for taking education of about 150 differently abled students.
