Bhopal: Three children died in a fire in the pediatric ward of the hospital

New Delhi: A fire broke out in a children’s ward of Kamala Nehru Hospital in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Three children have died in the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan confirmed.

The fire brigade had reached the spot and rescue operations were on to rescue the children from the affected ward. Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang was present on the spot, reported ANI.

Confirming the death, CM Shivraj Chouhan wrote on Twitter: “The fire incident in the hospital’s Children’s ward is very sad. The rescue operation was swift, the fire was brought under control, but unfortunately, three children who are already were seriously ill could not be saved”.

“The untimely departure of the children from the world gives unbearable pain. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls. My deepest condolences to the families of these children. I hope that those who have been injured in this incident, He will get well soon.” Om Shanti,” he condoled the demise of the deceased children.

A high level inquiry has been ordered into the incident. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh told that the investigation will be done by ACS Public Health and Medical Education Mohammad Suleman.

Talking about the situation earlier, Bhopal SP Vijay Khatri said: “While the reason behind the fire is not clear, the fire has been brought under control. All the children of the (affected) ward have been shifted to other wards. has been given. He is being treated”.

Meanwhile, parents waiting outside Kamala Nehru Hospital complained that they were not being given any information about their children.

“We have no information about our children, it’s been 3-4 hours,” ANI quoted the parents as saying.
