The Ministry of Labor and Employment has started the e-Shram Portal to give the benefits of central government schemes to the unorganized workers and laborers of the country. This portal was launched on 26 August this year. After this, till Wednesday evening, about 10 crore workers of the unorganized sector have registered on this portal.

On this achievement, Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav wrote on social media – E Shram is a symbol of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’. In future, more than 38 crore workers in more than 400 businesses will be able to get the benefits of social security schemes anywhere and anytime.

Sharing this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote – This is the journey from resolution to accomplishment. The strength of crores of workers and workers of the country is becoming the cornerstone of New India today. The strong future of the country is hidden in their social security.

Benefits of this plan
In the information given by the Ministry of Labor, it was told that the workers who have got their registration done on the e-shram portal, they will be given benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. At the same time, the Ministry of Labor and Employment will pay the premium for the first year. Under this, a risk coverage of Rs 2 lakh has been given in case of accidental death or total disability.

Whereas for partial disability, one lakh rupees will be given. On the other hand, if there is any emergency or disaster, then help will be provided to these laborers. Not only this, this database will be made the basis for giving direct benefits to the schemes being launched by the central government regarding laborers and they will be benefitted by making schemes according to them.
