Like private companies, now in governments too, contract workers are increasing everywhere. Contract means contract or contract worker. Actually, such employees do not have to pay pension and many other facilities. Governments, burdened with huge pension burden, are finding it convenient to have contract workers.

There was a time when a government job was considered a job. All other jobs were considered as Aaya Ram Gaya Ram. However, in the changing times, the craze for government jobs has decreased. Not because people are fed up with government jobs, but because it takes a long time. The process of recruitment is very complex and above all, corruption is rampant to a great extent.

Governments could not make this process easy. Corruption also could not be controlled. That’s why he found an easy way of contracting. The Corona period made this intention of the governments even easier. People who were fired in the name of layoffs from private companies, wherever they got jobs, started catching up.

A report shows that not only the Central but also the state governments have doubled the number of contract workers in the last four-five years. The number of contract workers in governments, which was 11.11 lakh in 2017, increased to 24.31 lakh by the end of 2021. Similarly, the number of contract workers in PSUs which was 2.68 lakh in 2016 has gone up to 4.99 lakh by 2020. Experts believe that the main reason for this rapid growth of contract workers is the Corona period. He says that during this time the government was stopping the permanent recruitment, but the work could not be stopped. So governments focused on outsourcing and thus contract workers increased.

Anyway, for all the youth who are doing new courses today, the governments neither have enough jobs nor do the governments need the same expertise. Today’s youth prove their proficiency in private companies with new specializations and get desired promotion or salary in very less time. That’s what he wants too.

Leaving some areas of some states, the youth is now running more towards private jobs. There, if one company does not recognize his competence, he also has the option of going to another company and he starts getting his desired salary as soon as he leaves two or four jobs. It may not happen in some cases, but most of the youth believe in it and get their destination.

The youth of today do not believe in the rotten systems and cumbersome processes of governments anyway. Because the government system never had the value of new talent and did not want to move forward. The government likes the ant movement of files from table to table, so the ants keep on moving on the files, fearlessly.
