NCB team seizes 8640 bottles of banned cough syrup in Thane, two arrested

NCB’s Mumbai unit has seized 8,640 bottles of cough syrup containing the banned drug codeine from neighboring Thane district. Two persons have been arrested in this case. NCB officer Amit Ghate said that on receiving intelligence, a team of NCB took action. A car stopped on the Agra-Mumbai highway near Bhiwandi town in Thane. The driver of the car was arrested and on the basis of information received from him, NCB laid a trap and also nabbed another person who was supposed to receive the consignment. The consignment was to be supplied to parts of Mumbai and Thane.
