Bhagwant Mann will take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab in Bhagat Singh’s native village, Vijay Roadshow on Sunday

Bhagwant Mann will take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the native village of iconic freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, party sources said after meeting the party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi on Friday. The party will hold a road show in Amritsar on March 13. Sources said that both the programs will be attended by Kejriwal.

Sources said that a day after the Aam Aadmi Party’s resounding victory, Mann on Friday met Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal at his residence and invited him to attend both the events. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and AAP’s in-charge of political affairs in Punjab Raghav Chadha were also present in this meeting, which lasted for more than an hour. Later Mann left for Punjab.

“My younger brother Bhagwant Mann will take oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab. Today he had come to my house to invite for the swearing-in ceremony. I am sure that as a Chief Minister, Bhagwant will fulfill every expectation of the people of Punjab.

The Aam Aadmi Party has won 92 of the 117 assembly seats. Mann won from Dhuri seat by a huge margin of 58,206 votes. Speaking to reporters in Sangrur before leaving for the national capital, Mann said he would meet Kejriwal to congratulate him on the party’s victory in the Punjab elections.

Mann said that the swearing-in ceremony would be held in Khatkar Kalan, the native village of the great Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr district. On the party’s resounding electoral victory, Mann said, “People defeated the arrogant people and they made the common people victorious.”
