Bengali actor Boney Sengupta, who joined the BJP ahead of the assembly elections last year, on Monday said he is quitting the saffron party as it has failed to fulfill the promises of development of the state and the film industry. Sengupta kept his distance from the party after failing to come to power in the state, despite a high-profile campaign.

“It is informed that my association with Bharatiya Janata Party has shifted to second place from today.
