Beijing: Four Chinese military planes enter Taiwan defense zone – Times of India

Taipei: In yet another example of growing military threats from Beijing, at least four Chinese military planes on Monday TaiwanThe Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), marks the fifth incursion this month.
as reported by Taiwan News, two People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Shenyang J-11 fighter aircraft, a Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft, and a Shaanxi Y-8 reconnaissance airplane flew over the southwest corner of the ADIZ.
In response to incursions from Beijing, Taiwan sent aircraft and issued radio warnings, deploying air defense missile systems to track PLAAF aircraft, Ministry of National Defense ,mnd) informed.
Meanwhile, 13 Chinese military planes have infiltrated Taiwan’s identified territory this month, including seven spotter planes and six fighter jets, Taiwan News reported.
This comes as Beijing claims sovereignty over the democratic island and has increased military incursions into Taiwan.
Taiwan is a democracy of about 24 million people located on the southeast coast of mainland China.
Despite ruling separately for more than seven decades, China has threatened that “Taiwanese independence” means war.
Chinese President on June 1 Xi Jinping Pledged full integration with self-governing Taiwan and vowed to destroy any attempts at formal independence for the island.
In other recent developments, French National Assembly Taiwan will also vote on a resolution that aims to support Taipei’s participation in international forums, reports the news.
