While Samantha has spoken about their split on several occasions, Chaitanya chose to talk about it recently. Their separation sparked rumors of Samantha having affairs. Some reports also claimed that the Telugu actress never wanted children and had a miscarriage. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their split through a joint statement on October 2, 2021. Ever since they made the official announcement to end their marriage, much has been said and written about it.
There were also rumors that Naga Chaitanya was unhappy with Samantha’s decision to play the bold role. According to BollywoodLife sources, not only Naga Chaitanya, but also his parents Nagarjuna Akkineni and others, were not very happy with Samantha’s decision to continue doing bold scenes and item numbers in her films after marriage. The source even went on to say that Naga Chaitanya and his family were in complete shock after seeing Samantha’s sex scene in ‘The Family Man 2’ and felt themselves ‘betrayed’.
Interestingly, in 2016, before her marriage to Chaitanya, Samantha had spoken about not giving up her career after marriage. In an earlier interview with Spotboye, the actress had also said that luckily, it was not difficult for her to create equal space with the heroes.
Samantha had said, “I was blessed. In my very first film Yeh My Chesave (Telugu), I played a role with the lead man of Naga Chaitanya, incidentally, I am all set to get married. .. my personal space was allotted to me from the very beginning of my career. Further talking about becoming Akkineni Nagarjuna’s daughter-in-law, Samantha had said, “Proud has been a part of personality. I will not think about my achievements. I have never stopped to admire what I have done. Because I don’t think I have achieved much. I still have a long way to go. That’s why I will not give up my career after marriage.”
