New Delhi: Former India head coach Ravi Shastri much appreciated Keegan Peterson, saying that the South African batsman reminded him of the legend Gundappa Vishwanath,
Pietersen proved to be a key member of the South African team that thrashed India 2-1 in the recently concluded Test series.
The batsman scored twin fifties in the third Test in Cape Town and was named Player of the Match as well as Player of the Series.
,Keegan Peterson (KP). Excellent initials (@KP24). Becoming a great world player. #SAvIND comes to mind of my childhood hero Gundappa Vishwanath,” tweeted Shastri.

Regarded as one of the best batsmen of his era, right-arm Viswanath, who played 91 Tests and 25 ODIs for India, had a supple wrist, which he used to play the square cut. 28-year-old Pietersen is equally wristy.
Shastri also said that ‘KP’ was a great start, referring to former England captain Kevin Pietersen, who was one of the most captivating batsmen.
Pietersen ended the three-match series with 276 runs in six innings, including three crucial half-centuries.
