The 37-year-old India Discord appeared before the committee last month and the accused journalist, too, made further submissions. Saha had alleged that Majumdar had threatened her for not giving an interview.

The BCCI is expected to close the matter in the Apex Council meeting.

“Review of the Report of the Committee on the issue relating to Shri Wriddhiman Saha,” read Item No. 4 on the agenda of the meeting which is in PTIis captured.

The journalist in question, on his part, had claimed that Saha had “doctored” a WhatsApp screenshot of a chat with him before posting it on social media, triggering a major controversy.

Centrally contracted player Saha had made several tweets against the journalist on 23 February.

Saha was told by South Africa head coach Rahul Dravid that he was no longer in the scheme of things and the confidential information was disclosed by the cricketer himself.

Saha has played 40 Tests since making his debut in 2010 and for the past few years he was in the team as a reserve wicketkeeper and Rishabh Pant became the number one option in all conditions.

Other items on the agenda of the seven-point meeting include “hosting fees and participation fees for the multi-day tournament and resolutions for updating bank signatories”.

The venues are also expected to be finalized by the members for the Ranji Trophy knock-out stages to be held after the Indian Premier League from May 30 to June 26.

The league stage of the tournament was held in February-March after a gap of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
