Team India’s young brigade created history by winning the first women’s U-19 T20 on Sunday World Cup title. Shafali Verma and Co. produced an impressive performance in the summit clash against the England women’s team to lift the coveted trophy. it was a one-sided affair where India England were bundled out for just 68 after Shafali bowled first. The Women in Blue did not have much difficulty in chasing down the target and won the match by seven wickets with 6 overs to spare.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah was overjoyed with India’s historic win as he announced prize money of Rs 5 crore for the women’s U-19 cricket team and support staff.

“Women Cricket The excitement is rising in India and the World Cup victory has raised the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am happy to announce Rs 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. It is certainly a path-breaking year,” Shah tweeted.

In a series of tweets, Shah also invited Shefali and Co. to watch the third T20I between India and New Zealand. Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad as he wants the young ladies of the team to celebrate the victory in a big way.

“I invite @TheShafaliVerma and his victorious team to join us at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and watch the 3rd T20I on 1st February. This colossal achievement certainly calls for a celebration. @BCCI @BCCIWomen” Shah tweeted.

Earlier, just after India’s win over England, Shah praised the young cricketers’ strong character and temperament on the big stage as they completely dominated the opposition in the final.

“Kudos to India U19 team for winning the #U19T20WorldCup. It is a phenomenal achievement as our young cricketers have made the country proud. Young players not intimidated by the big chance, it says a lot about their steely character and temperament,” he wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers put up a collective effort with the ball to bundle out England for just 68 runs. Tita Sadhu, Archana Devi and Parshvi Chopra took two wickets each, while Mannat Kashyap, Shafali Verma and Sonam Yadav shared one wicket each to finish off England. batting line-up.

Soumya Tiwari remained unbeaten on 24 from India in chasing the target easily. Gongadi Trisha also made 24 but was dismissed just three runs before the historic moment.
