He is disappointed but not disappointed. An MBA, he has a food processing unit in Karimnagar and nurtured political ambitions when his cousin instigated him.
Did he enter the fray because of the name Rajendra hoping to capitalize on Eatala’s popularity? “The name is only incidental,” said Appalapelli Rajender, who in his affidavit referred to his party as All India BC, OBC party.
However, another ‘Rajendra’ admitted that he felt that he could use his name in the political arena. “I am basically a TRS supporter. I decided to file my nomination myself. I had no participation in contesting the elections,” said Esampally Rajender Kothapet village of Hanamkonda mandal.
Rajendra is engaged in agriculture and because of the immediate opportunity nurtured a political dream and filed his nomination as a candidate of New India Party. He said that when he went to file his nomination, his experience was bad as the officials did not help him.
“They literally refused to tell us whether everything was entered correctly in the nominations,” he said. Esampally Rajendra said he had not received any information on whether his nomination had been rejected or not.
Another ‘Rajendra’ in the fray is 40-year-old Emmadi Rajendra of Hanamkonda’s Kothapet mandal, who filed his nomination as a Republican Party of India candidate.
