Barisu Kannada Dim Dimwa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday kicked off the ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival by banging drums at the Talkatora Stadium. PM Modi reached Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium to inaugurate the cultural festival on Saturday evening. According to reports, he will also address the gathering on the occasion.

At the ‘Barisu Kannada Dim Dimava’ cultural festival, PM Modi said, ‘The world is celebrating the International Year of Millets after India started it. Karnataka has been a major center of Indian millets. Ragi is part of the culture and social identity of the state.

He further said, ‘Programs for the promotion of millet were also started from the time of Yeddyurappa. Now India is following the path of Kannadigas and has started calling Bajra as ‘Shri Anaj’.
