Yaba tablet seized in Kolasib district of Mizoram. Three smugglers have also been arrested in a joint action by BSF’s 38 Battalion, Excise and Narcotics Department. In Thailand, there is a provision for life imprisonment to death for keeping it.

According to the report of news agency ANI, the team has seized 1 lakh 30 thousand 492 Yaba tablets of about 12.8 kg from the smugglers, which is being valued at Rs 6.52 crore. Two of the arrested smugglers have been identified as Sameer Dev (49) from Assam and Solomon (36) from Myanmar.

BSF got such success
BSF said that there was news of a deal of Yaba tablet near Chhimluang village, after which the operation was started. The soldiers who reached the spot did not let the deal happen and caught the smugglers. He said that the value of the seized Yaba tablets is Rs 6.52 crore in the market.

What is Yaba Tablet?
Yaba is a medicine in tablet form. In India, Yaba is called a maze. It is often red in colour. The letters WY are written on its cover. Yaba is known as the madness drug. The drug is manufactured in Shan, Kachin and two other states in eastern Myanmar. The drug is transported from Laos, Thailand, Myanmar to southeast Bangladesh and other countries.

This medicine is given to horses
Yaba is the worst-rated drug in Thailand, where those who use it can face up to 20 years in prison, or a very heavy fine. Those caught with more than 20 grams of yaba face a life sentence and sometimes the death penalty. In the Shan state, this medicine was given to horses during mountain climbing and heavy work.
