Bank Holiday in November 2021: All banks including private and public sector banks will be closed For five consecutive days this week, starting Wednesday, November 10, as the celebration continues across the country. November is usually the month of Diwali or Deepawali, which was celebrated last week this year. During this week, several other festivals like Chhath Puja in Bihar and Jharkhand and Wangala festival in Shillong will begin from Wednesday. Private and public sector banks will remain closed for 17 days in the month of November. Keeping this in mind, if you want to do some work related to the bank, then you should take care of these bank holidays in November to do the work smoothly.

In this regard, you should also note that this should not be a matter of much concern as these holidays are state wise. For this, only a few branches of banks in the respective states will remain closed during the above days. Except for a few days, they are usually not uniform in nature. For example, on the occasion of Chhath Puja// Surya Pashti Dala Chhath (Evening Ardh) in Bihar and Jharkhand, Patna and Ranchi will have a bank holiday today, but services will remain available in other parts of the country. Hence, bank customers are generally advised to visit the nearest branch to know about the complete list of bank holidays.

Bank holidays are effective as per the list issued by Reserve Bank of India or RBI. According to a list of the central bank, the number of holidays this month has been fixed at 11. The rest are weekend leaves. This includes all Sundays of the month as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. Banks are open on the first and third Saturdays of every month. The RBI holidays list falls into three categories. These are state wise celebrations, religious holidays and festival celebrations.

The central bank’s notification for holidays has been notified under three brackets namely ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act’, ‘Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act’ and ‘Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday’ and ‘Banks’ Closing of Accounts. ‘ Are included. On these notified holidays, all branches of banks, including public sector, private sector, foreign banks, co-operative banks and regional banks, will remain closed.

Apart from individual state wise holidays. Banks will be closed on some weekends. In this regard it should be noted that weekend leaves are similar in nature across India. These are mentioned below:

November 13: Second Saturday of the month

14 November: Sunday

So, if you have any bank related work pending or you want to withdraw cash, you must visit your nearest branch as soon as the banks will be closed as there is a long mark of bank holidays from 12th October.
