Bank Holiday in August 2021: Settle your pending bank work before these dates; See the list

The festival season in the country begins in August. The bank remains closed on festival occasions but this time there are many additional holidays in the month of August due to various reasons. So, if your bank work is pending, it is better to settle it on time.

Most of the people in big cities these days use internet banking. Still, many people do not have access to net banking. It is important for them to be aware of additional bank holidays. According to the list of holidays released by the RBI, banks will remain closed for eight days in different zones in August, except Sundays and second-fourth Saturdays of every month.

weekly holiday on 1st august
The first bank holiday in August begins on August 1, as it is a Sunday on August 1. Bank holidays are on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Apart from this, there will be at least 8 additional holidays in different parts of the country. On August 13, 2021, there will be a holiday on the banks of the Imphal zone due to Martyr’s Day. On August 14, 2021, there will be a holiday in banks due to the second Saturday. Independence Day will be a holiday (August 5), although it falls on a Sunday. Therefore, there will be a holiday for four consecutive days in the Imphal Zone. 16 August 2021 will be a bank holiday in Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur regions of Maharashtra on account of Parsi New Year.

19 to 23. long vacation
Due to Muharram on 19 August 2021 Agartala Zone, Ahmedabad Zone, Belapur Zone, Bhopal Zone, Hyderabad Zone, Jaipur Zone, Jammu Zone, Kanpur Zone, Kolkata Zone, Lucknow Zone, Mumbai Zone, Nagpur Zone, New Delhi Zone, Patna Zone, There will be a bank holiday in Raipur Zone, Ranchi Zone and Srinagar Zone. There will be a bank holiday on 20 August 2021 in Bangalore Zone, Chennai Zone, Kochi Zone and Kerala on account of Muharram and First Onam. Due to Thiruvonam being on 21st August 2021, there will be a bank holiday in Kochi Zone and Kerala. August 22, 2021 being a Sunday will be a weekly holiday for banks. On 23rd August 2021 being Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti, there will be a bank holiday in Kochi Zone and Kerala.

August 28 being the fourth Saturday, there will be a holiday in the banks. August 29 being a Sunday, there will be a weekly holiday in banks. Janmashtami is on 30th August, due to which there will be a holiday in most of the banks in North India. There will be a bank holiday on Janmashtami in Ahmedabad Zone, Chennai Zone and Gangtok Zone. There will be a holiday for three consecutive days.

  • Banks will remain closed on August 1 and August 8, being a Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed in Imphal zone on August 13 due to Martyrdom Day.
  • Banks will remain closed as August 14 is the second Saturday.
  • Closed on Sunday, 15 August and on account of Independence Day.
  • Banks will remain closed in Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur regions of Maharashtra on August 16 on account of Parsi New Year.
    Banks will remain closed on August 19 on account of Muharram.
  • On August 20, there will be a holiday in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Kerala zones on account of Muharram and the first Onam.
  • On August 21, there will be a holiday in Kochi and Kerala zone due to Thiruvonam.
  • August 22 will be a bank holiday due to Raksha Bandhan and Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed in Kochi and Kerala regions on August 23 on account of Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti.
  • Banks will remain closed on August 28 being the fourth Saturday.
    Banks will remain closed on August 29 as it is a Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed on August 30 on account of Janmashtami.
  • Banks will remain closed on August 31 in Hyderabad on account of Shri Krishna Ashtami.
