Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second T20 International against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Saturday.
Afridi had violated Article 2.9 of ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which is related to Throwing a ball (or any other object of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) in an improper and/or dangerous manner at or near a player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during an international match . “
Apart from this, a demerit point has also been added to Afridi’s disciplinary record. For whom this was the first offense in a period of 24 months. When a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, they are converted to suspension points and a player is banned.
Two suspension points means a ban from one Test or two ODIs or two T20 Internationals, whichever comes first for the player.
