During the weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Hasina directed Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan to initiate immediate action against those inciting violence using religion, Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Anwarul Islam was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune newspaper.
Prime Minister Hasina, who attended the meeting through video conferencing from her official residence, also urged the people of the country not to trust anything on social media without fact-checking, he said.

Local media reported that six Hindus were killed in separate attacks, but the figures could not be independently verified.

Meanwhile, the ruling Awami League party is holding ‘harmony rallies’ against the recent communal violence and taking out peace processions across the country on Tuesday.
