Biman Bangladesh Airlines currently employs 156 pilots. Their salaries are being cut by 25 to 50 percent from May 2020, according to the airline’s order for “officers” working on the aircraft and working from zero to five years of age. The remaining cockpit crew will not be paid any salary in July. However, cockpit staff, including pilots between the ages of 5 and 10, will get 5 per cent of their salary in July, and those aged 10 or above will get 25 per cent.

Pilots get foreign allowance, which is 20 percent of their salary. Now that it’s completely stopped, their pay will be reduced by 45 percent instead of 25 percent, for those whose 5 percent salary will be deducted, it will be 25 percent for them. For these reasons, the pilots announced that they would operate flights only as per the agreement between the aircraft and Bapar if the aviation authority had not been deducted by July 30, the pilots said.
