Samosas are a perennial favorite, but now food bloggers are getting excited about the new challenge this snack is offering them in Meerut.
A sweet shop in Kurti Bazaar Meerut has prepared a samosa weighing eight kilos and the challenge is to eat it in 30 minutes. The winner will get a cash prize of Rs 51,000.
Shop owner Shubham told reporters, “I wanted to do something different to get samosas in the news. We decided to make ‘Bahubali’ samosas. We started by making four kg samosas and then eight kg samosas. He said that an eight kg samosa costs around Rs 1,100 and the filling includes potatoes, peas, paneer and dry fruits. “So far no one has succeeded in the food challenge. Many people have tried but could not come close to completing the challenge and we plan to make 10 kg samosas now,” Shubham said.
However, he admitted that Bahubali Samosa had brought customers back to his shop which is becoming increasingly popular.
He said, ‘Food bloggers from different parts of the country are coming to see Bahubali Samosa and are making reels.
