‘Baahubali: The Beginning’: SS Rajamouli’s biggest period drama…

New Delhi: Seven years ago, the world saw the biggest blockbuster film in the history of Indian cinema, director SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’.

Written by KV Vijayendra Prasad, the period action film garnered much appreciation from the netizens and garnered over Rs 650 crores worldwide with an estimated expenditure of over Rs 200 crores, and gave a whole new identity to the Tollywood industry.

As the clock turns seven for the Prabhas-starrer, Dharma Productions, on its Instagram, shared a special post to celebrate seven years of the mass entertainer project. “A film that truly captured the essence of larger-than-life filmmaking and received fanfare like no other! Celebrating 7 years of Baahubali.” Religion caption.



Produced by Karan Johar, the film starred South actors Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan in lead roles.

The big budget period film took more than three years to make, and a huge set was built in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. High on VFX film was awarded the ‘National Award for Best Feature Film’ in the year 2016 and director Rajamouli received the ‘Filmfare Best Director-Telugu Award’.

After the resounding success of ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, actor Prabhas has garnered a lot of praise for his amazing transformation and dedication to Rajamouli’s dream project. After a wait of two years, the makers released ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ in 2017, the highest-grossing film of all time in India. The sequel earned over Rs 1,800 crore at the worldwide box office.
