Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese arrived in India on Wednesday on a four-day visit. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel welcomed him in Ahmedabad.

On reaching Ahmedabad, Anthony Albanese visited the Sabarmati Ashram and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

Australian PM celebrated Holi in Ahmedabad as well. Albanese tweeted, “Honored to celebrate Holi in Ahmedabad, India. Holi’s message of Navnirman through victory of good over evil is a lasting reminder to all of us.”

Earlier, before leaving for India, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had said in a tweet, ‘Today I am bringing a delegation of ministers and business leaders to India.’

Responding to his Australian counterpart, PM Modi said, “India eagerly awaits your arrival! Looking forward to productive discussions to further the India-Australia friendship.”

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also accompanied the Australian PM during his visit to the ashram.

Albanese will attend a Holi program at the Raj Bhavan later in the evening, as per the schedule shared by the officials.

PM Modi, who was in Tripura earlier today, will reach Gujarat around 8 pm tonight.

PM Modi and his Australian counterpart will witness the opening day of the India vs Australia 4th Test match in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, Bhupendrabhai Patel inspected the Narendra Modi Stadium at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Complex in Ahmedabad.
