England would not have wanted such a start, it has been a disappointing season for them. The openers, Haseeb Hameed and Zak Crowley, failed to form an innings and were dismissed early in the session. Joe Root and David Malan took things under control and tried to rebuild the innings. He did some repair work but could not hold off till the end of the session as Malan was dismissed just before lunch. Root, who is still standing tall at the crease, looks to be in good touch and will have to stick to the end and take his team to good scores. Will the Australian bowlers continue to suffer?
