Australia election 2022: Scott Morrison’s safety car crashes with four police officers – Henry Club

Four police officers have been taken to the hospital after the incident Scott MorrisonA security car collided with another vehicle in northern Tasmania.

The security vehicle was following the prime minister’s car which was not involved in the collision.

Dramatic photos from the scene show the crashed car overturning on a country road near Elizabeth Town.

Two officers were being treated by paramedics in a field next to the car.

It was not clear how the accident happened.

Two Tasmanian police officers and two federal police officers have been taken to hospital and were conscious when they were transferred.

Mr Morrison will not attend any other events on the fourth day of campaigning.

A spokesman for the prime minister said: ‘The prime minister’s follow-up security vehicle was involved in an accident near Elizabeth Town.

The prime minister is not injured and was not involved in the accident.

‘Two Tasmanian police officers and two federal police officers from the prime minister’s security detail, who were in the follow-up vehicle, have been taken from the scene to the hospital for further evaluation. All the officers were conscious when the transfer took place.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

“The family members of the officials have been contacted and their condition is being assessed.

‘The Prime Minister is always extremely grateful for the security provided by his security team and wishes him and his families the very best.

‘This afternoon’s program has been cancelled.’
