While at the crease, Labuschagne gestured for a lighter in the dugout as he wanted to repair his helmet on the field.

In a funny turn of events, Marnus Labuschagne was seen making visual gestures as if he was smoking, which looked like he was holding a cigarette between his lips. He then moved his thumb up and down, to suggest he was pressing the lighter. As soon as he reached with the lighter, the message reached his companions. Labuschagne ordered Lighter to repair his helmet on the field. There was probably a problem with the lining of the helmet, and he burned it using a lighter. His gesture must have shocked quite a few, but the subsequent turn of events cleared the air.

In a video shared on the official Twitter account of Cricket Australia, we can see Marnus first pointing at his helmet followed by a gesture that looks like smoking.

Michael Hussey shared his thoughts live on air and said “There may be some material on the downside. It might have some wear in it, it wants to burn that wear off material, I’m not sure!

Looking on the funny side, a fellow commenter said, “I think he’s asking for a cigarette lighter; He doesn’t want a quick dart in the break!”
