‘Atmosphere of fear’ helped TMC win Kolkata civic polls, says LOP Suvendhu official

Counting of votes for 144 wards of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) began at 8 am.

According to the data, the CPI(M) came second against the BJP in terms of polling percentage. TMC got 71.95% votes, while CPI(M), BJP and Congress got only 11%, 8.94% and 4.47% votes.

The KMC is divided into 144 administrative wards, which are divided into 16 towns.

In 2015, the TMC had won 114 seats out of the total 144 wards under the KMC. The Left parties won 15 seats, while the BJP and Congress won seven and five seats.

There is a saying – Mamata Banerjee is a brilliant student of CPI(M) and she has proved this by following in their footsteps.
