Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul They tied the knot on January 23 at Sunil Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. The couple celebrated their union in an intimate ceremony. Suniel Shetty recently revealed that he first met his son-in-law KL Rahul at an airport in 2019, where he discovered that they both hailed from Mangalore and shared the same hometown. Later, he was surprised to learn that the cricketer was acquainted with his daughter, actress Athiya Shetty.
The actor recently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show and talk about your first meeting with your son-in-law. He said, “I had the privilege of meeting Rahul for the first time at the airport. I was thrilled to know that he was from my hometown Mangalore. I was a huge fan of his, and was happy to see that he was doing well. When I came home and shared the news with Athiya and Mana, they didn’t say much, they just looked at each other. Later Mana came to me and said that Athiya and Rahul [were on] Talking terms.”
Sunil further added that he was shocked to know that Athiya and KL Rahul are linked. “I was surprised that Athiya didn’t mention it to me. [At the same time], I was happy as I always asked Athiya to join South Indian boys. Rahul’s house in Mangalore is a few kilometers away from my birthplace Mulki. So, it was a happy coincidence,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Suniel is reuniting with co-stars Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal for Hera Pheri 3. Recently, a picture of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal from the sets went viral on social media. In the picture, Akshay, Sunil, Paresh Rawal, producer Firoz Nadiadwala and others were seen posing for the cameras.
