Punjab Election 2022: Political parties of Punjab demand postponement of elections
Major political parties of Punjab have demanded to change the date of assembly elections to be held on February 14. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, BJP and BSP wrote a letter to the Election Commission saying, ‘Sant Ravidas Jayanti is on 16th February. Lakhs of devotees from Punjab will go to Varanasi to offer prayers. In that case he will not be able to cast his vote. So some other date of election should be announced. The Election Commission will decide on this demand of political parties today.

The health of Bahujan Samaj Party’s Ghazipur MP Afzal Ansari suddenly deteriorated in the early hours of Monday. He has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. Afzal is the elder brother of UP mafia Mukhtar Ansari.
