Assam New SOP: Complete lockdown in 7 districts of Assam from 7th July | Guwahati News – Times of India

GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Tuesday announced a complete lockdown in seven districts of the state from July 7 till further notice.
Curfew in these seven districts- Goalpara, Golaghathandjob Jorhathandjob Lakhimpurhandjob sonitpurhandjob Vishwanath and Morigaon – Will be round the clock.

“There will be total containment in seven districts which have shown high positivity rate in recent days,” news agency ANI quoted the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) order as saying.
All commercial establishments, restaurants, shops will remain closed during the lockdown.
Public and private transport will remain banned and inter-state movement will remain suspended.
The state’s Covid-19 tally rose to 5,19,834 on Monday, as 2,640 more people tested positive for the infection, while 31 fresh fatalities took the state’s death toll from the coronavirus, a health bulletin said. 4,683. The highest number of 333 new cases were reported in Golaghat district, followed by Sonitpur (233), Kamrup Metropolitan (197) and Jorhat (151).
Five people died of Kovid-19 in Dibrugarh, four in Golaghat, three each in Jorhat and Sonitpur, two each in Cachar, Dhubri, Hailakandi and Hojai and one each in Charaideo, Chirang, Karimganj. Kokrajhari, Morigaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar and Tinsukia districts.
