In the Asia Cup Group B match, Bangladesh’s captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and chose to bat against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh made three changes to their playing XI from their previous match against Sri Lanka, bringing in Shamim Hossain, Afif Hossain, and Hasan Mahmud in place of Tanzid Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman.

Shakib mentioned that the decision to bat first was influenced by the pitch and the hot weather conditions.
