Aryan Khan case: Director Sanjay Gupta criticizes film industry’s ‘silence during crisis’

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, known for making gangster films like Kaante, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Mumbai Saga, has come out in support. Shah Rukh Khan His 23-year-old son Aryan has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs-on-cruise case. Sanjay also criticized the silence of the film industry during this “time of crisis”.

He wrote on Twitter on Monday evening, “Shahrukh Khan continues to provide jobs and livelihood to thousands of people in the film industry. He has always stood by the film industry in every cause. And in the shrewd silence of the same film industry in their hour of crisis.” Nothing less than SHAMEFUL (sic).”

In another tweet he wrote, “Aaj uska beta hai, kal mera ya tumhaara hoga. Tab bhi issi buzdalli se chup rahoge (sic)?”

Singer-composer Mika Singh also replied to Sanjay’s tweet and wrote, ‘You are absolutely right brother, they are watching all the drama and can’t say a word. I’m with @iamsrk. #Aryan Khan should get bail. I think everyone’s kids in the industry will go one more time, then will see this unity (sic).”

Aryan moved the high court on October 20 after a special court rejected his application for bail. The HC will hear his bail plea on October 26.

In his appeal in the HC against the special court order, Aryan said that the “interpretation and misinterpretation” of WhatsApp chats collected from his mobile phone by the Narcotics Control Bureau was “wrong and unfair”. He claimed that no banned substance was recovered from his possession after the NCB raided the ship.
