Arvind Kejriwal appears on posters in Bengaluru ahead of Opposition meeting

New Delhi: beyond grand opposition meeting In Bengaluru yesterday, the city was plastered with posters of leaders who would be attending the gathering to unite against the Narendra Modi-led central government.

Among these posters, there was also a poster of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This comes after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha informed that the Congress has declared its “categorical opposition to the Delhi ordinance”.

Asked about his Twitter post regarding support to the Congress, AAP leader Chadha said more details on the matter would be released after the PAC meeting is over.

Earlier in the day, Congress leader KC Venugopal also clarified his party’s stand on the Delhi ordinance brought by the Center relating to control over bureaucrats. He said the Indian National Congress (INC) would continue to oppose the Centre’s efforts to “destroy federalism”.

He said, “We are continuously opposing the efforts of the central government to harm federalism. We are continuously opposing the attitude of the central government to run the opposition states through governors. Our stand is very clear, we are not going to support the Delhi ordinance.

Raghav Chadha calls it a positive development

As party leader Raghav Chadha mentioned in his tweet, this appears to be a “positive development” for AAP. With this, all those speculations have come to an end for the time being, in which it was being said whether Arvind Kejriwal would attend the opposition meeting or not.

In the last meeting, the Congress did not raise the matter of its support to the Delhi ordinance in the meeting, leaving everyone in doubt whether the AAP-Congress relationship would affect the opposition’s strength in the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections.

opposition meeting

The meeting of the opposition remains a hot topic in the country at the moment, given that many opposition parties from the states had come with the aim of ousting the BJP-led government.

The posters saw the faces of CPIM(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation leader Dipankar Bhattacharya and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, among others.
