New Delhi: Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh thanked Christy Valiyaveettil for making his sand art on the 16th anniversary of six-sixes in a row. The left-handed batter slammed six continuous sixes on September 19, 2007, in the T20 World Cup match between India and England at Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban, South Africa.
While facing England’s speedster Stuart Broad in the 19th over, Yuvraj pulled the first ball over the deep square leg boundary. The second ball was also short and Yuvraj Singh hit it over midwicket.
The third ball was full and wide and Yuvraj Singh smashed it over long-on. The fourth ball was short and wide, and Yuvraj Singh pulled it over deep square leg again. The fifth ball was short and slow, and Yuvraj Singh hit it over long-on again. The sixth ball was full and wide, and Yuvraj Singh finished the over with a six, over long-on.
On the occasion of his six sixes anniversary the batting all-rounder took his Twitter and shared the sand art video of his heroics, here is the video: “Thank you for this lovely sand art, Christy Valiyaveettil even though you created this for my birthday, today is also an apt occasion for me to share it” tweeted Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj’s last heroics was the 2011 ODI World Cup, played in India, and the MS Dhoni-led team India won the title by beating Sri Lanka in the final at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai. In that World Cup, the 41-year all-rounder was featured in eight matches where he scored 362 runs with an average of 90.50 and picked up 15 wickets.
Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, but he made a remarkable comeback to the international cricket in 2012. He continued to play for India till 2017, and retired from the international cricket in 2019.
