Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal says he is considering directing a feature film. The 49-year-old actor, known for his performances in films like “Om Shanti Om”, “Rock On!!”, “Don” and “Raajneeti”, says he is confident of making a good film as a filmmaker. . “I keep working with the idea (of directing) and then shy away. Hopefully one day I will. I know I will make a good film,” Rampal told PTI.

The actor’s new film “The Rapist”, written and directed by filmmaker Aparna Sen, received rave reviews after its European premiere at the recently concluded London Indian Film Festival.

Rampal said that he is excited by the positive response to his character of devoted husband Aftab Malik. He said, “Working with Aparna Sen was so enjoyable. I think that’s the best adjective to describe it. Simply pure and wholehearted, challenging and demanding and therefore very satisfying.”

The actor recently played the villainous Rudraveer in “Dhaakad” and admitted that he is conscious about choosing his roles, though he does not believe in distinguishing between a hero or a villain.

Rampal said, “Whichever is the better written part, I will go for it. To play both negative or positive dimensions, can only be achieved by good writing.”

The actor is now shooting in Hyderabad for his debut in South cinema with the Telugu period drama “Hari Har Veera Mallu” directed by Krish Jagarlamudi.

“Krrish is a great person and a very good director. I used to be intimidated about the language, but I think it is coming together well,” he said.

“I think with any film, language should never be a barrier; if the film is engaging and entertaining then it finds its audience everywhere. Films should not have boundaries or discrimination, especially films made in their own country. I am very happy that finally those barriers have been broken,” said the actor.

Some of his other projects to release in the coming months include “Penthouse” and “The Battle of Bhima Koregaon” by filmmaker duo Abbas Mustan. Sunny Leone,
