According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 44,459 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 2,98,88,284 people discharged so far.
A total of 36,89,91,222 people have been vaccinated in the country so far, out of which 40,23,173 people have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
On July 6, India recorded 553 deaths – the lowest since April 6. Then on 23 May, India witnessed a record death toll with 4,454 deaths in 24 hours at the peak of the second wave.
