Arabs scuffle with police Yusufiya Cemetery According to Palestinian media, on Friday afternoon near Jerusalem’s old city, they gathered near a closed area where gardening was taking place next to illegally placed graves.

Police fired tear gas shells and used rioting methods to disperse the crowd near the cemetery. According to Palestinian reports, the police had arrested at least two Arabs.

Videos shared on social media showed Arabs shouting “Khyber, Khyber Jews, Mohammed’s army will return” at police officers in front of the cemetery. The chant refers to the Battle of Khyber in 628 CE, when Muslims led by Muhammad fought against the Jews there, eventually defeating them and taxing them.

Arab residents of East Jerusalem claim that gardening work at the site in East Jerusalem is damaging and desecrating the graves of their relatives, while the Israeli Nature and Parks Authority maintains that the graves are illegally placed on public land. but it would still not damage or touch the graves at all during the work being done.
