Apple Expected to launch the next generation airpods pro later this year. Though the tech giant is not known to reveal any details about its upcoming products, news about its upcoming products gets leaked at times through its suppliers or resellers. Now, according to a report from Apple Insider, the company is working on a new AirPods Feature that will work when it hears a specific codeword. The report states that the purpose of this feature is to turn on/off noise cancellation. The technology that enables the feature was recently spotted on Apple’s patent application.
The patent indicates that the upcoming AirPods The model will feature better noise cancellation as compared to the current generation. In simple words, this feature in the patent is said to help better adaptability of the noise cancellation feature. The codeword will trigger the upcoming feature like ‘Hey Siri’, ‘Hey Google’ or ‘Alexa’ trigger voice assistant. In simple words, when you turn on the noise cancellation on AirPods, it is difficult at times to hear someone calling your name. With your name as the codeword, AirPods will automatically turn off noise cancellation so you can answer your calls.
It is worth noting that the technologies demonstrated in Apple patents do not always lead to the actual product. Plus, if the company plans to add this technology to the upcoming AirPods, it may still take a few years. Apple is also reportedly working on AirPods with various health features including posture and body temperature monitoring. In addition, AirPods will also have the ability to function as a hearing aid, said a report in The Wall Street Journal. The claims are based on documents showing a prototype of these earbuds with temperature sensors that monitor the wearer’s core body temperature from inside the ear.
