Apple releases iOS 16 beta 8 ahead of public release – Times of India

Apple has seeded the eighth beta build of iOS 16 ahead of the final release. The latest beta update has been made available to developers and public beta testers. Users enrolled in the developer or public beta programme can now install the iOS 16 beta 8 update through General Settings > Software Updates, from the Settings.
There are no major changes as such, but the update continues to focus on bug fixes, performance improvements and optimisation as the public release nears. The last beta update was released a week ago, and even that focused on ironing out the bugs since the public release is only a few weeks away.
Apple could begin rolling out iOS 16 with the launch of iPhone 14, which is scheduled on September 7.
Reports suggest that Apple has shifted its focus to iOS 16.1. It is currently dedicated to fixing some of the last few problems that beta testers have faced before the big update is released to the public.
As for iPadOS 16, that will not be released next month, as confirmed by Apple. The company says that the iPads will release the iPadOS 16.1, which according to rumours, is not happening before October
One of the major changes with iOS 16 is that users will now be able to customise the lock screen on their iPhones, with options to have different fonts and colours and add widgets. Further, there is now the option to create multiple lock screens and link them with different Focus modes. The way notifications appear on the lock screen has also been revamped. Some apps, including iMessage, Photos and others, have also been updated with new features.
